Warning: Spoilers ahead!
TVLine reports that Chuck has recruited stars* from The Office and The Shield to guest in episode 5.04, “Chuck vs. the Business Trip.” The casting news also appears to answer a technical question we had after last season’s finale.
David Koechner, aka the obnoxious, obscene Todd Packer from The Office, will appear as “Crazy Bob,” a cheerful Buy More manager whom Chuck and Sarah encounter at the company’s Employee of the Year Convention. The Shield‘s Catherine Dent also guest stars as a Buy More manager, Jane Robertson, who is a close friend of Bob’s. Hmm…just how “close” are they?
TVLine mentions that Chuck and Sarah have spared no expense putting on the convention, which strongly suggests that they did indeed buy the entire company, not just the Burbank Buy More as some had speculated.
*We’re using the term “stars” loosely, despite TVLine’s traffic baiting ways.
The entire Buy More??? They bought the whole company??? I also thought they had only bought the burbank one…
That’s a bit unclear to me as well. I thought C/S bought just the 1 Buy More above Castle, but from this spoiler, it sounds like they’re hosting the convention. Did I read wrong?
No, that was my point in the last sentence above: this strongly suggests that they bought the entire company.
Maybe the different Buy Mores take turns hosting the convention and it’s Burbank’s turn. Probably not, but thought I’d throw an alternative out there.
It certainly does, Mel. Although I took the scene in the finale to imply different. Either way, I like David Koetchner. It’ll be fun to see him in action. Always like him on The Office!!
Talk about a major distraction from the spy business! Sarah and Chuck as part of corporate America? Buying a whole company, as opposed to a single store, will certainly serve up plenty of options for frustration and humor.
It will be interesting to see the reaction of the Burbank Buy More employees when the find out Chuck and Sarah own the entire company. Wonder how they’ll explain how a fellow Nerd Herder and former Orange Orange yogurt girl could afford to buy it?
yo where’s morgan
