The fast overnight ratings are in for “Chuck vs. the Bullet Train”, and it’s good news for Chuck! Approximately 3.85 million viewers tuned in to see how Sarah handled the Intersect, translating to a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That’s an increase of two-tenths in the demo and, more importantly, a season high. Will next week’s series finale be even higher?

i would love to see an end like the beggining: 8 millions #chuck fans in front of a tv.
that will be awesome!
quite impossible but some more it will be lovely. everybody deserves that 🙂
and it´s never enough: thank you for all the fun!
Maybe we should have one last campaign to get as many viewers as possible for the last episode(s).
Even though it won’t change anything, it would be nice to go out with a bang. I want it to be like other shows finale’s, where they’re advertised all day everyday and analyzed on the radio and tv the next day. But I know, I’m dreaming 🙁
Good for Chuck getting a bump in ratings. Eat it, Greenblatt! (Or however it’s spelled)
I don’t know why everyone here is so mad at Greenblatt. He made it perfectly clear on renewal that this season will be the final season and that it will definitively be 13 episodes. This way the writers won’t be blindsided with an episode extension and they could write the final season with that in mind.
He’s also right, Chuck fans have not come out to support the show in this final season.
I imagine the finale will get slightly higher ratings.
Glad to see Chuck’s numbers jump. Especially after Greenblatts comments. I suppose he is busy with nbc’s 8th place on Thursday at 10pm. Not to mention the big spring run of The Playboy club… oh wait never mind.
It looks like the fans are finally showing up at the end.
That are great news !!!! love chuck <3 this ep was awesome !!
I’m very disappointed with the streaming situation. I’ve only seen 5.1 and 5.3 this season. Hopefully, as soon as the finale has aired they’ll make at least part of this season available on hulu and nbc.com. I assume they are trying to find out how much streaming canibalizes their broadcast ratings. The thing is I simply almost never have the ability to watch the show when it airs. I would gladly sit through twice the current average number of hulu commercials to watch this show on the internet.
“Hopefully, as soon as the finale has aired they’ll make at least part of this season available on hulu and nbc.com.”
Hulu, I think will eventually air it, although who knows about the timing. nbc, I very much doubt it. Whatever the problem was in the rights to stream Chuck, nbc won’t care anymore after the show is over. Once it’s this time next week, Chuck will be in the history books as far as nbc is concerned.
There is also always the chance it will eventually come up on the WB website, too, although since I’ve not seen anything past season 1 over there of late, I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Not trying to be snarky or anything, just making observations. I hope you get to see the episodes soon. 🙂
After seeing yesterdays episode, and how Sarah now has no recollection of the past 4 1/2 years, and keeping with Josh and Chris’ sentiments about how it’s going to be an homage to early Chuck episodes, I think it’s going to end at the bar from episode one, where Sarah and Chuck first went.
I can hardly stand the thought that my favorite show will be gone. I’ve loved EVERY show. I wish we could save it again somehow.
Or even bump up the episodes to 24 like what should of happened
Yes its sad that a show that really is popular worldwide* is only considered ok to produce if the US market responds with outright number of viewers with the quality of those viewers only minimally considered.
*FWIW This site http://www.pogdesign.co.uk/cat/graph/ charts people who select their favourite shows for tracking. Chuck is currently number 10 out of 300+ tracked shows
Vlad, you can rant all you want about US networks only caring about US viewers, but until they can earn money from viewers outside the US, they aren’t going to care what you watch. Ditto UK networks and viewers outside the UK; German networks and viewers outside Germany; etc.
No this is a short sighted view from TPTB especially today with the internet. The internet is now spoilernet for any fan of any show and TV stations need to realise that if you want viewers for ads then airing something more than 24 hours after its first showing will lead to lower veiwership
The reason for the site I referred to it tracks shows all over the world for their first airing not just UK shows. The graph happens to be a popularity chart. Which highlights another point – The rest of the world does have a more global view and does consider where else they can sell their product, and more importantly will buy products as-is however the US TV execs often try to recreate in its own image with very few successes (the office was a success in both UK and recreated US version however US versions of “IT crowd” and “Kath and Kim” sucked both of those original shows are sold to many countries outside of their original production country.
My point stands US network execs need to think more globally or more importantly the production companies should stop thinking of US networks as their only customers.
Vlad, I’m not saying the networks are correct in only caring about the “local” viewers. I’m saying that’s the reality of the situation. It all boils down to money – which is why our Chuck campaigns have always targeted advertisers – and if the network can’t earn money from international viewers, then they don’t count in the decision making process.
so thankful for the bump in the ratings and yes it doesn’t matter to nbc, but it matters to us and that is what counts. the episode was so satisfying, it had all the things that have made us love chuck over these last five years.. sure wish we had more.. can’t wait for next week and wish it wasn’t comming so soon.. chuck forever……….
I can’t believe they are taking away our Chuck!!
Every year it’s the same thing. Why can’t they
leave the good shows alone? Is there any way
to save Chuck again?????
