Adam Baldwin joins the cast of TNT’s The Last Ship, replacing Titus Welliver who was to play the lead spot. Welliver had to leave due to family illness, according to Deadline.
The Last Ship centers on the crew of a naval destroyer who, after a global catastrophe decimates the Earth’s population, are forced to confront the reality of their new existence in a world where they are among the only survivors. Baldwin will play Mike Slattery, second in command to Captain Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) onboard the USS Nathan James. He’s a fair man who cares deeply for his family. He and Tom clash at times over the best course of action.
The Last Ship is based on the book by William Brinkley, and will be directed by Jonathan Mostow; executive producer Michael Bay.
Personally, I like all the post-apocalyptic shows that have broken over the past couple television seasons, so I’m pulling for this to go to series. What do you think?
Awesome! Congrats to Adam on the new gig!
Well, I have to check it out then. 🙂
Please keep us updated when he’s on.
Sounds like yet another post-apocalyptic themed project on my list to watch! “Battelship” I actually enjoyed. Also, loved “The FInal Countdown”. Baldwin as a US Navy XO,,,cool! Would have been more epic if it was an aircraft carrier, but also expensie to shhot and build for a tv budget these days(re: ABC’s Super Carrier. I prety much lived on an aircraft carrier for my first 4 years in the Navy.
Oo-rah to the Colonel!
It will be awesome to see him in his best element again!
Adam as a Naval man yet again! All the best to him.
Cool concept! This should keep him busy until they begin filming the Chuck movie!
