Chuck alum Ryan McPartlin may be returning to NBC! Per Deadline, Ryan booked a co-starring role in a pilot project for NBC, titled Salvation, opposite Ashley Judd.
The series stars Judd as Jennifer Strickland, the widow of Daniel Strickland, the pastor of a mega-church in Texas who dies suddenly, leaving behind a mess of dirty secrets. Jennifer tries to keep her family together and save the church in the wake of his passing, struggling with her husband’s scandals and her grief. Ryan plays Todd Bishop, an ambitious Congressman married to Jennifer’s daughter, Lilly. Todd’s job keeps him away from home a lot, and after his father-in-law’s death, he attempts to distance himself from the Stricklands by moving his pregnant wife and two children to Washington D.C. with him.
Filming on the pilot will begin soon, and NBC will announce pickups for 2014-2015 in May. Break a leg, Ryan!
