On September 24, 2007, NBC debuted a show that defied categorization – part sci-fi, part spy thriller, part comedy, part romance, it had something for everyone. We had already fallen for it months before it debuted, and this site stands today as a combination archive and monument to the 5 seasons, 91 episodes, and millions of fans of Chuck. To celebrate the premiere of one of the best shows in recent memory, we’ve put together a week-long series of features for those who were there on September 24, 2007, and those who just finished binge watching all five seasons on Netflix. Happy Chuck week!
Music played such a huge role in the show, so we thought we’d close out this celebration week with a look back at some of season 1’s greatest hits.
The season 1 winner of our Ultimate Sing Off Tournament back in 2012 was the song that plays during the show’s opening credits, “Short Skirt/Long Jacket” by Cake.
Pilot – Chuck and Sarah’s first beach scene, accompanied by “A Comet Appears” by The Shins
“Chuck vs. the Helicopter” – “Gone Daddy Gone” by Gnarls Barkley plays as Chuck arrives for dinner; repeats during the souffle destruction & when Sarah is kidnapped.
“Chuck vs. the Alma Mater” – Flashbacks of Chuck leaving Stanford, Bryce and Chuck meeting for the first time, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Oasis.
“Chuck vs. the Nemesis” – Bryce is reassigned, and Sarah must decide if she’s going to leave with him or stay in Burbank as “No One’s Gonna Love You” by Band of Horses plays over the scenes.
In my opinion, one cannot ignore the use of “Private Eyes” by Hall & Oates:

No One’s Gonna Love You has become one of my all time favorite songs all because of Chuck. It will always be my Season One number one……
Thanks GIRLS for the Chuck Week tribute on top of the continuous updates on any and all things Chuck people related. Your site is still at the top of my favorites bar. The five season binge watching you mentioned; I just finished S5E1 from my start a couple of weeks ago. I will never get sick of watching the five years of Chuck, as well as ChuckTV.net.
There were of course lots of great songs but for some reason I gravitate towards Fresh Feeling by The Eels.
Hands down, No One’s Gonna Love You! That song SHOWED how much in love Chuck was for Sarah and at the same time, telling Sarah that she’s in love of him! The PERFECT song! 😀
