Zachary Levi to Host ‘Geeks Who Drink’ Game Show

Zachary Levi sure is keeping busy! Syfy announced today that Zac will executive-produce and host a new game show for the network called Geeks Who Drink through his company, The Nerd Machine.

The weekly series is based on the pub trivia contest of the same name, which has become a nationwide phenomenon with more than 25,000 people participating in over 600 bars across 35 states.

In each episode, two teams of self-proclaimed “trivia geeks” battle it out in rapid-fire quizzes that cover topics from pop culture to science fiction.  Each team consists of three players – a celebrity team captain and two trivia pros.  After three rounds of competition, the winning team will earn bragging rights, a spot on the Geeks Who Drink leaderboard and a bevy of prizes to geek out over.

“To be the executive producer and host of Geeks Who Drink is an exciting opportunity to broaden my experience on both sides of the camera,” Levi says. “Geeks Who Drink is such a fresh take on the game show genre, and something that we at The Nerd Machine believe will resonate with everyone who loves trivia and pop culture.”

Geeks Who Drink premieres Thursday, July 16 on Syfy. We’ll also be seeing Zac in the upcoming Heroes Reborn and, we assume, at Nerd HQ in San Diego the first week of July.
