COMIC CON 2011: Nerd HQ Raises $25,000+ for Operation Smile

The Hollywood Reporter is recapping the winners and losers of Comic Con and plants Zachary Levi firmly in the “winner” category:

Zackary Levi The Chuck star used the launch of his show’s final season as an opportunity to pitch for charity at his Nerd HQ a few blocks from the convention center. The actor organized access to yet-unreleased video games as well as “Conversation for a Cause” panels that raised $25,000 in donations for Operation Smile in the first two days alone. “I think we’ll do it again,” Levi told THR. “It’s been really successful.”

Way to go, Nerds!

Update: Per Operation Smile, the final tally raised was $40,000!

  1. Just another example of an actor, who we all appreciate, who is more focused on others than he is himself.

  2. Points for trying, I suppose. But between misspelling his name and citing the incorrect amount raised, I’m not really impressed with THR.

    • That number was the amount raised in the first two days, as noted in the article. I’ve updated with the final tally from Operation Smile. Awesome!
