The ratings for last night’s episode of Chuck are in, and they’re first class! (Get it? The episode was titled “Chuck vs. First Class”? Bueller?) Per the fast overnight numbers, approximately 6.9 million people tuned in to watch Kristin Kreuk’s debut on Chuck, a slight uptick from last week, but more importantly the show held steady with a 2.5 rating in the 18-49 demo. This keeps Chuck easily in the Top 5 shows for NBC, and in the Top 3 scripted shows. Good job, show!
Updated: I noticed that Chuck actually beat How I Met Your Mother last night, both in total viewers and in the demo. Granted, HIMYM was a rerun, but how long has it been since NBC came in third in that timeslot?
Go Team Bartowski!
tal cual vamoooooooo arriba
keep up the pressure. We didn’t trend on Twitter last night.
Excellent!
Glad to see that the numbers are relatively holding steady.
We’d better talk it up during the Olympics for a strong showing when it returns with 3.06
Nice to see Morgan and Casey bonding over the insurgents 🙂
Pretty good ratings though I had hoped for a bit more of an improvement given that CBS ran repeats & 24 wasn’t in direct competition.
I’d say House is stronger competition than 24, considering it consistently pulls in much better numbers.
WOOOHOOO!!! GO CHUCK!!!! 🙂
Maybe Chuck can take over the Tonight Show.
I’m happy with this. It was a great episode! Go Chuck!!!
There are some positives in the numbers. First, as Mel pointed out, Chuck is in the Top 5 of all NBC shows and Top 3 for scripted shows. Second, it was still the best performer by far of all NBC shows last night, and it’s in the toughest time slot on Monday night. (Castle would not win it’s time slot at 8:00.) Third, there was no drop-off, which means, it’s keeping fans.
We have two more episodes in February before the Olympics. Chuck goes up against new episodes of HIMYM, House and The Bachelor during Feb. sweeps. Again, it doesn’t have to beat them, it just has to keep performing stronger than other NBC shows (again–Heroes.)
If the show continues to average a 2.5 (Dancing With the Stars returns in March), it will out-perform last year’s numbers. That will guarantee a Season 4.

Here are the finals:
6.977 million viewers
2.5/6 A18-49
Gained a couple more thousand viewers. Just a tad under 7 million. Not bad at all
Keep plugging everyone! Keep spreading the word. Loan out those dvd’s. The battle for season 4 has already started.
Viva Buymoria!
I really hope that NBC promotes Chuck heavy during the Olympics to attract even more viewers. Maybe they could even get Zach and Joshua to do some Olympic interviews or guest appearances in Vancouver as someone suggested this past summer.

I hope so too. Chuck needs, deserves a fourth season.
I’ve been forcing Chuck down my friends throats, making them watch my DVDs. I’ll take a tiny fraction of that credit 🙂
Maybe the solid ratings will finally get Chuck some cool merchandise like a wall calendar, action figures and a video game?
