Josef Adalian (aka TV Moe Joe from The Wrap) has a new column looking at which shows are on the bubble as we go into the Olympic hiatus. Sure, it’s a little early to be making predictions, but using the data available to date, he’s ready to put his rep on the line. So what does he say about Chuck?
And two other shows with big cult fan bases — Fox’s “Fringe” and, yes, Schwartz’s “Chuck” — are widely considered to be all but slam-dunks for renewal.

“Chuck”: Like we said, it’s almost certain to be back. To be safe, though, it couldn’t hurt to buy some Subway when the show returns after the Olympics.

A fourth season would be awesome but what ideas are they going to come up with. Thats the problem with this type of show the use up all the original ideas in the first few seasons then what?
I think it will be fun and pleasent to watch if in fourth season Chuck and Sarah run away … get married and then they do some missions in as married couple ….but with the implication of others. I can imagine something like that having popularity on screen !

I always imagined Chuck spanning out 5 seasons. Season 4 hopefully involves finally having Sarah and Chuck together as a couple going on missions with an overall arc to the season. The show will obviously have some game changer for the season finale. Then the series finale, Chuck and Sarah leave the spy business and live a happy “normal” life together.
A lot of work to do before anyone can think of a fourth season.
“Chuck” being able to get a forth season would be amazing. And I believe that the show holds some things that many fans haven’t consider that leaves the next season wide open. For instance:
In season 2, Chuck uploaded the “Dark” intersect in “Chuck vs. The Suburbs”. But here’s the thing, even though FULCRUM used the basic design of the original intersect, the programing must’ve been completly different. So when ORION deleted the original intersect from Chuck’s, he must’ve targeted a specific set of coding. If so, then Chuck still has the “Dark” intersect with him in this new season.
If Chuck get’s a new season, maybe the “Dark” intersect is activated somehow and starts interfering with intersect 2.0 like an overwrite.
SEASON 4 SOUNDS LIKE HEAVEN!!!! 🙂
How could there not be a fourth season?
I don’t think Chuck is anywhere close to being a slam dunk to get renewed.
S3-E19 has probably been written, but it should be viewed as a season/series finale. But leave just enough wiggle room should it be picked up for a 4th season.
We can still do an intersect refresh that includes data which conflicts with the earlier info.
We can have Chuck (an electrical engineer/computer geek/programmer with the plans) make his own intersect secretly and gather the data in some surreptitious manner. (Making Chuck a rouge agent) – chuck 3.0 on the run with Sarah and Casey after him.
We can always have one off shows of some old cont(r)act of Sarah or Casey show up to make life interesting/miserable/uncomfortable.
The side show I want to see is Jeff’s mom getting out of prison and looking for a job at Buy More in some episode or other.
Also, Chuck and Ellie’s mom has never been dealt with. If we get a season 4, she could show up. Bonus points if she’s a bad guy.
Bonus bonus points if she’s played by Lena Olin.
I loved this show for the first 2 seasons but as for season3 , well it’s kinda lacking. I don’t know if it’s because of the budget cuts or what but something is missing. Don’t get me wrong it’s still entertaining just something missing. Also the one person that should guest star is the other famous “Chuck”! Mr. Chuck Norris himself would be an awesome bad guy. He could be the actual leader of the Ring????? Or the new leader of Fulcrum since they really never closed the door on Fulcrum….. That could be good for atleast half a season or more. Now that I’m thinking about it the whole “Ring” thing is kinda corny… It’s like Fulcrum was alittle less corny and more believable??? But whatever just my 2 cents. Also I’m unemployed right now so if my ideas are used I wouldn’t mind a check. lol
