Chuck vs. the Podcast Episode 48 – Writer Matt Miller

Talk about a freakish bubble of awesomeness! In a very relaxed and informative interview, Chuck writer/executive producer Matt Miller tells us all about his path to Chuck, and gives us some great behind the scenes perspective.

What was the most challenging scene in “Chuck vs. the American Hero” and why? Why are “bottle episodes” often the best? How did he go from waiter to TV show creator when he was only in his twenties? And which Chuck writer was his roommate in the late 1990’s? It’s all here in Chuck vs. the Podcast episode 48.

Don’t forget our “Chuck: Declassified” renewal campaign. Some great ads are already coming in!

  1. Are these done for free? Is this just volunteer work? I can certainly understand the lower quality of podcasts lately because of time or ability, but we got one podcast that was 2 episodes at once, and then this podcast which was just an interview. I really thank you for these podcasts and taking time out of your schedules and other commitments, as we absolutely appreciate the effort, but the podcasts are starting to be as lame as Chuck episodes lately.

3.12 a “GREAT” episode? Not really. Kinda iffy. It was basically vs the Mask in reverse. 30 minutes of cool stuff and then 10 minutes of 90210 crap. I understand not talking about the episode because it was such a let down, but to simply dismiss it and say “very well received” is spotty at best. These podcasts have really deteriorated, but that’s just my opinion and I certainly appreciate the work you do.

    • They didn’t dismiss the episode. The guys talked about it in the previous podcast, episode 47. Personally, I thought the episode was awesome. But to each his own. =)

      • Ahhhh

Thank you so much. I totally missed the previous episode. These podcasts are awesome, and even if I don’t necessarily agree with everything they say, I certainly do appreciate their hard work.

Thanks a ton Chuck vs The Podcast. I hope there is a season 4.

      • I’m with you minghann, I thought the episode as well as season 3 on the whole has been epic. But you’re right as well, to each his own 😉

  2. Thanks for this interview. I wish I could be a fly on the wall of a Chuck writing session. I would love to hear all those ideas for the characters that never make it to the TV screen.

Thanks also for splitting this interview off of your other podcast. Two shorter episodes are easier for me to digest.
