Tonight’s encore episode of Chuck is one of the best of the season so far. Directed by Zachary Levi, Joshua Gomez totally owns this episode. Plus, JEFFSTER! “Chuck vs. the Beard” airs at 8/7c on NBC.
Chuck (Zachary Levi) feels like his life is falling apart when he can’t flash and gets left behind for a mission. While Shaw (guest star Brandon Routh), Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and Casey (Adam Baldwin) go on without him, Chuck finds himself in a sticky situation back at the base. Joshua Gomez, Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Scott Krinsky, Vik Sahay and Mark Christopher Lawrence also star.

One of the better eps from the dark middle period of this season.
Agreed. This episode marked a turning point in the season for the better, in my view.
I have to day that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this entire season, but this episode was one of the BEST of the whole series.
It has one of the more perfect blends of comedy and drama that the show is known for, and kudos to Zach and Josh Gomez for absolutely BRINGING IT to this episode.
You know, I read somewhere on a forum for Chuck that what makes this show so different from other comedies is that it’s not just funny; it’s joyous. Although there are definitely lol moments, the best part of those show is the huge smile of pure joy it can put on your face while you watch it, and I couldn’t agree more.
And this episode had that for me. Sure it was hilarious to watch Morgan “help” Chuck take out the bad guys in the fight scene, but it was even more fun (joyful) to watch him react to Chuck’s confession about being a spy in the first place. His reaction is the reason that I watch this show. They are such close best friends that after learning that his best friend has been lying to him for almost 3 yrs, instead of being mad, he’s thrilled and PROUD. Wow, that’s the kind of scene that just makes me full of genuine happiness for the characters.
A show that can leave me with a satisfied smile on my face is definitely my kind of show.
Can’t wait to re-watch this episode tonight.
Help save the show by watching and pulling for better ratings so maybe we can have a fourth season. Thanks to all Chuckaholics for your support.
Only problem with this episode that afterwards, we have a stinkin’ WEEK to wait till the Back Six come on. How am I ever gonna survive? I finally finished season 1 online though it’s really a challenge to hunt down the links so I could watch properly. And I’ve only seen a few from the second season and I am loving it. 24 and V have helped this torturous wait a little too.
I actually enjoyed this season a lot other than the obvious fake chemistry between S and S. That really is my only complaint about this season. I can live the plot holes. I just really didnt care much about the whole love interest thing, not because I didn’t BR but I just didn’t get it. I get what Sarah sees in bryce and Cole and I get why Chuck went with jill, lou, and even Hannah. I just dont understand why they felt the need to force a relationship between Sarah and Shaw. If they would have left that alone and just kept Shaw as another spy or mentor to Chuck I still think that ep 314 would have still had the same impact..
Why hasn’t the Jeffster cuts become available? ‘Africa’, ‘Mr. Roboto’, and ‘Fortunate Son’ would all sound great on my iPod. Maybe they could be offered through iTunes for a limited time or something cool like that. Fedak & Schwartz, are you listening?
Sorry!~~ That should read ‘haven’t.’
I’m from Romania and I’m clearly a Chuckaholic. Unfortunately there’s not much that I can do to help the renewal, except for voting day and night on all the poles. I voted on the link shown upper, and Chuck has 94% versus The Office with 6%… And that I think says something, right? I also bought a t-shirt from NBC store with Chuck, maybe that helps, at least a little bit. The show is amazing, it just MUST come back for a 4th season!!! Go Chucksters!!!
congrats
that is awesome
