Today was the big day! Chuck fans across the country got together to rally for the show and spread the Nerd word at lunchtime. Flash mobs in Philadelphia, Chicago, Seattle and San Diego got tons of advance press, but what actually went down?
Inclement weather in Philly and Seattle reduced the numbers, but the hardy Chuck fans who did show up were ready to spread the word. In Philly, they chatted up people in Love Park about the show.
The Seattle mob decked themselves out in Nerd Herd gear in front of the Science Fiction Museum (by the Space Needle) to pass out cards and tell people about Chuck. Costume Designer (and Seattle native) Robin Lewis-West came to lend her voice to the mob, and there may have been a Nerf gun fight involved, too.
San Diego fans went marching down the sidewalk from Horton Plaza Park to the Subway, carrying a Buy Moria flag and talking to people along the way. They had little bottles of bubbles with the Chuck logo and cards with information about the show. A barrel of cheeseballs also made an appearance!
Chicago Chuck fans commandeered the Bean at Millennium Park where they showed people that gathered around a special video promoting Chuck, passed out information, and talked up the show before heading to Subway to celebrate. Apparently some passersby thought the group were missionaries! The Chicago group also had the Littlest Nerd Herder as part of their mob.
Meanwhile, fans who weren’t able to go to one of the cities for a flash mob joined in the Twitter mob in droves. Between noon and 1PM local time, fans were encouraged to Tweet a message to NBC asking for a fourth season of Chuck. At one point we were averaging 25 Tweets every 10 seconds!
Thanks to all of the Chucksters who joined in the mobs, both in person and on Twitter. Special thanks to the leaders in each city: Penny, Jeff, Barb, Ivy, and Sam. Your creativity in promoting Chuck has been delightful to watch. See lots more photos from all four cities here, and keep your eyes peeled for video coverage coming as soon as we get it edited together.
You guys rocks! I was in Seattle last summer and in Horton Plaza in ’99, so I was early mober!! 😀 I made my own mob in Paris by myself lol
I love that Chuck fan efforts are decisive and to the point. They help where it counts be it exposure, donate to a good cause, or directly raise sales of sponsors. And all doing so discouraging annoying or inconveniencing people, as some campaigns can do, and encouraging good manners and joy in promoting the show.

In my town they bumped NBC and put Fox over it so no one could watch Chuck. Worst day ever. Fox had no sound so I guess they figured House was more important….
Really? Wow, that’s messed up.
the chuck fans are the best in the world XDXD
