They really aren’t that spoilery, but E!Online has some comments from the Chuck cast about an upcoming weapon and how they feel about the possibility of a fifth season:
Lauren: Chuck intel, por favor!
Zachary Levi was gracious enough to give us the goods on how much trouble Lauren Cohan will be causing. “We’re going to get some super secret weapon component,” he tells us. “Then [Vivian] shows up unexpectedly and all hell breaks loose and Bob’s your uncle.” Sidenote, when was the last time you heard someone use the phrase “Bob’s your uncle?” Keep being you, Zach.Heather_r_Flynn: How does a season five for Chuck look?
Always on the bubble, never above it. Beyond it? Off it? Whatever, we’re counting on a season five of Chuck, and the cast seems very optimistic about it as well. “I think [the chances] are pretty good,” Yvonne Strahovski says. “I will be surprised if we don’t get a season five.” Adam Baldwin dittos his costar’s hopeful attitude. “I feel cautiously optimistic. Until you hear the go sign, I just remain cautiously optimistic.” Give us that go sign already, NBC!
“…all hell breaks loose and Bob’s your uncle.â€
I always get a chuckle out of hearing that phrase, which makes sense considering that I actually do have an uncle named Robert. 😀
What does that phrase mean exactly? I’ve always wondered….someone please explain. I love that the cast is “cautiously optimistic” I feel like that every season although with the syndication idea really taking hold I’m feeling better about the 5th season happening, there is a lot more of the Bartowski story to tell. Still holding out for a cryogenic miracle and Papa B. returning…love Scott Bakula.
You’ve got my vote for Papa B. coming back in season 5. That would be all too cool. Maybe Ellie and Awesome could help bring him back from his frozen state!
That would be so great…what if that is what is in that secret room that Casey is working in now? Hmmm. Can’t wait too seen what they have in store for us for the rest of the season, the set ups are definitely there for some thrills, so glad we have several more episodes this season. I’m sure we’ll see some familiar faces in S5!
I Googled it. Wikipedia says,”Bob’s your uncle is a commonly used expression mainly in Britain and Commonwealth nations. Typically, someone says it to conclude a set of simple instructions to mean, “and there you have it,” or “you’re all set.”
Thank you, John! I knew I’d heard that expression before and it was definitely said by somoene British, probably heard it in Mary Poppins, the kids watch that a lot.
If they don’t renew Chuck, NBC will have 5.5 million terribly broken hearts on their conscience. How will they sleep at night?
Especially because they will never have another 5.5million viewers invested in a show on NBC at 8pm ever again. If they do cancel Chuck I will have great pleasure in watching them flounder to find something to hold it’s own in that timeslot.
You know, that’s an excellent point. The Event hasn’t held steady, Heroes tanked, The Cape did even worse…Monday night has been a wasteland for NBC for awhile. And yet, Chuck has endured. Sooner or later, I have to think that Chuck’s direct competition on other networks will start to flag, leading people to flip the channel and discover one of the best unsung tv series ever produced.
they will also have all the international veiwers on their conscience, not that they give a damn about us
How did this turn into a thread lamenting Chuck’s cancellation? It hasn’t been canceled, in fact right now it’s on the “probably will be renewed” end of the spectrum. Surely y’all would rather be talking about the upcoming war with Large Mart!
Plus all the Aussie fans that are watching it and are not being counted in the viewer statistics. Plus all the other Chuck holics around the world. We need our Chuck, we need a season 5, please NBC, it one of the best shows aired in Australia.
All I can say, about NBC canceling Chuck, is that I’m very happy that I have all four seasons on my hard drive. THANKS TO MY OLDEST SON!!!
You stealing mother of one!
Support the show, and buy the media discs!
LOSER.
@Henry
Don’t be so quick to think Steve stole those episodes from season 4 from a bit torrent type site. He could have dvr’d them and then burned them to disc or transfered to a digital file to put on his hard drive. I’ve done that before until the dvd’s have come out to buy. That’s not stealing.
In my case I download the eps from a bit torrent type site. But that’s just because the in my country Chuck doesn’t air on Tv and I have no other way to watch, just like many other series of mine. Still, in the end, I buy all DvDs. I even had Chuck S03 shipped to my country because it wasn’t for sale in here, so don’t rush into conclusions…
Well, it’s not too early to start campaigning and doing our own parts to help chuck get renewed! If we win the best in competition that hulu’s putting on right now, nbc’s sure to take notice! This week it’s chuck vs supernatural. Head over to hulu.com and do your part to save our show!
And re-watch episodes on NBC.COM and HULU.COM. Every “view” counts! 🙂
This is all good. Like to hear it. But I dont know though.
If the “product placement” (like the most recent Sleep Sheep) on CHUCK enables Warner Brothers to offer it to NBC at a cut rate – and if DVD sales of CHUCK remain good (I just bought Seasons 1,2&3 from Amazon for just a little over $50 TOTAL COST to give as a gift to a friend) – we’ve got a chance. That’s why it’s so important to let the advertisers know that CHUCK fans support them when they support CHUCK. If you look at Cloud B’s Facebook site, they have to be very pleased with the “return” on their product placement investment of the Sleep Sheep. That’s the kind of thing we need to keep up.
Keeping fingers crossed for a fifth season. Since CHUCK wasn’t on last night, I basically watched no TV!!
Yeah you’re right I also just bought all 3 seasons in blu-ray on amazon.com, and now I’m expecting season 4 in blu-ray. When season 4 ends I’ll rewatch all of them to refresh my memory.
An early commit from NBC would allow Schwedak to make job offers to qualified writers in a timely fashion. Then you get better quality shows and better viewership. It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. When you wait till the last minute to commit to the show, you see last-minute scrambling to get writers to replace the good ones who got early offers elsewhere. Then you wind up hiring those who haven’t already been hired elsewhere. Like waiting until closing time to find a hook-up, you get what’s left. And you get the coyote-ugliness of a season 4.
Excellent point, Dr. Bob! And it happens with CHUCK every season. The announcement of “next season” for CHUCK usually is one of the last programming announcements that NBC makes. And that doesn’t make things any easier for the showrunners – or probably anybody else associated with the show.
“We’re going to get some super secret weapon component…Then [Vivian] shows up unexpectedly and all hell breaks loose and Bob’s your uncle.†A new weapon built inside Sarah’s dress? Sounds rather 007’ish to me.
Gee Chuck keeps mentioning his Uncle Bob – I wonder if he will be at the wedding. LOL
I don’t understand why NBC won’t replay season’s 1,2&3 on their other network similar to what they have tried to do with some their other shows. (i.e. Undercover, The Cape and The Event on SyFy or Sleuth or USA) NBC has only re-shown the first season once and that was right before the 2nd season. I believe there would be others that would catch onto the series. A lot of people that I talk to don’t like DWTS or the Bachelor crap but can’t come into a show midway without knowing the characters and be willing to stick. Maybe NBC is afraid of having a sucessful show on Mondays.
Mind the fact that NBC has to also keep in mind the fact that, the show is obviously worthy of renewal, due to all the awards received and nominated for. ( on that note: winning awards at Oscars, even if it is just for stunt coordination, it is a big deal )
very true also the stunt coordination is VERY GOOD
I think the main problem is that Chuck is on NBC, and generally people take NBC for granted because of its other failed TV shows that cause the newt==twork to lose viewers therin causing CHUCK to lose viewers. We just need to get the news back out their of Chuck and how NBC doesn’t suck……as much. No offense really, but serioulsy, the Cape, The Event, whats with NBC and these one word after “the” shows, clichee 😛 jk but the shows may tank causing views for NBC in general to. Come On People! Don’t Give Up On Chuck! It’s Too Damn Good!
didnt chuck say “Bob’s your Uncle” in Season 4 Episode 2 when they found that dress with the smart bullets in it and sarah was changing to put the dress on?
