Friday Five: Most Downloaded Songs of Season 4

A month after the Chuck season 4 finale seems like enough time to let song downloads from the later episodes catch up with earlier episodes, so let’s take a look at which songs proved most popular with Chuck fans this year. These are the top 5 songs used during season 4 and downloaded via our links:

  1. “A Girl, A Boy, and A Graveyard” by Jeremy Messersmith – Sarah tells Chuck he is her home in “Chuck vs. the Suitcase”. Amazon MP3A
  2. “Young Blood” by The Naked and Famous – The final montage and the proposal in “Chuck vs. the Push Mix”. Amazon MP3Young Blood - Young Blood - Single
  3. “Hiding Place” by Aushua – Sarah lays on the bed, worrying about Chuck in “Chuck vs. the Fear of Death”. Amazon MP3Hiding Place - Limbo [EP]
  4. “When I Go” by Slow Club – Chuck tries to propose in “Chuck vs. the Balcony”. Amazon MP3When I Go - Yeah, So (Limited Edition)
  5. “Miss Friday” by Nico Stai – Still in their bedroom worrying about Chuck, Sarah finds hiss proposal plan; used again when she goes to rescue Chuck in “Chuck vs. Phase Three”. Amazon MP3Miss Friday - Dead Pony

The use of songs on this show is always pitch perfect. Kudos to Alex Patsavas and her team for such amazing choices.

  1. Hi all, I have a Question – What songs would Chuck Listen to when he is being a “BAD ASS”? That would be a good Friday Five. What do People think? 4 me AC/DC would be good!!

  2. Wow – surprised two of my favorites aren’t on here (Howlin’ for You and Beat the Devil’s Tattoo). Another fave is I Like That, which was played during the runway scene in Suitcase. I do love just about anything Tim Jones sneaks in there though… he’s great! 🙂

    • Hi Jennifer, I think that Tim J writes the show’s original music (the instrumental parts, always good!), while the selections from various artists is chosen by Alex (“Kudos to Alex Patsavas and her team for such amazing choices”).
      Is that correct Mel?

  3. Hahaha I have all of those in my “Chuck Vs. The Music” playlist..Probably some of my most played songs in general. Great list, maybe make more from the previous seasons? Most of my songs are from Season 1.. c:

  4. My three favorite songs from season 4:

Episode 02: Static Revenger & Richard Vission – I like that (ft. Luciana)
Episode 02: TV Rock – Flaunt it (ft. Seany B)
Episode 09: Santogold – Creator (ft. Switch & Freq Nasty)

  5. How do you “find out” the names of these songs – and does anyone have a list that goes back to Season 1? I just recently got an iPad (a very generous gift) and have already downloaded a number of my favorite CHUCK episodes onto it. But I would LOVE to download the music – which has been AWESOME – as well. Besides this S4 list, do you have an overall list for the show up to this point?

    THANKS!! And Keep on Chuckin’!!

    • Rick, we have all of the songs listed in the Music section of the site. Just click the tab, choose the season, and scroll down episode by episode. We’re still working on adding download links for the earlier seasons, but all of the songs are listed. (P.S. I got an iPad2 as a gift recently and am so enjoying it!)

      • Thanks, Mel. I’ll “Chuck it out.” I hope it has the Tim Jones original?? “Chuck and Sarah” theme – that hauntingly beautiful piano music – is out there and downloadable, too. Now “CHUCK” music collection would be complete with out it. THANKS, AGAIN!!

  6. “A Girl, A Boy, and A Graveyard” by Jeremy Messersmith this really deserve #1 spot, and the scene was one of the best from the whole season 🙂

  7. Yay! Young Blood! Go kiwi music!

  8. I love “You Are A Tourist” by Death Cab for Cutie. I used to be a big fan of theirs but just kinda forgot about them, but I went an downloaded that song right after I heard it in episode 23.

  9. My favorite Chuck songs from season 4 would be something like this:

  11. Why hasn’t anyone mentioned frightened rabbit?

  12. Can believe First Day of My Life didnt make the list. I love that song

  13. Can’t believe that Silvia by Miike Snow didn’t make the cut. That song is one of the best songs I have ever heard

  14. -A boy a girl and a graveyard (suitcase)
    -miss friday (phase three)
-squealing pigs (first bank of evil)

these were the ones i bought almost immediately after watching the episodes but my chuck playlists grow whenever I rewatch episodes….I am the point where if i watch old seasons i can sing along with all the background music

    • add when I go to my list but I did buy it along with christmas tv back in season two during chuck vs the ring….love that they used same band for ellie/awesome wedding and chuck/sarah (sorta) proposal

  15. Fanfarlo – I am a pilot

An amazing season to an amazing show.

  16. Hey does anyone know the song towards the end of “Chuck vs. Operation Awesome” before Chuck is saved from Sydney by Shaw? Is it Tim Jones composition or a song not written originally for Chuck?
