RATINGS: Chuck Hacks Higher Ratings

The fast overnight ratings are in, and Chuck‘s return was met with a slight boost in ratings. Hurrah! Approximately 3.66 million viewers tuned in to watch Chuck and Sarah take on a nudist cult, translating to a 1.0 in the 18-49 demo. It should be noted, however, that NBC was the only network to run original programming in that timeslot, so there wasn’t much competition. But a boost is a boost!

  1. I bet if they didn’t censor anything, the ratings would’ve skyrocketed lol.

  2. Mel, do you if there is a reason that NBC is not posting the videos of the recent shows? I would like to rewatch them but since they are not available I can’t. NBC has not done this before. Any ideas?

    • They don’t have the licensing rights to stream this season online. Looks like we won’t be able to see episodes online until after the season is over.

      • Thanks for clearing that up. I noticed in my cable company’s On-Demand all of the NBC shows were pretty much there with the exception of Chuck. VERY important we don’t miss a single episode folks.

      • Might it be a play by Warner Brothers to build up demand and bring the Season 5 Chuck DVD to market as soon as possible after the final episode? Until then, I am fortunate to be recording the final 13 episodes to my DVR.

  3. It’s interesting to note that two of the entertainment sites that reported the fast overnights both used photos from Chuck (and only a photo from Chuck) on their pages, not a picture of Frosty the Snowman, which is the show that got the most viewers, or something from one of the other shows mentioned.

So hooray for more exposure, however slight. And, no, I did not use the word “exposure” intentionally. tee hee, though. 😉

  4. Great news but doesn’t really matter since NBC has already cancelled Chuck and the sets are shutting down. I thought the cast and crew already left a few days ago?

    • Yes, filming wrapped on December 7, but it’s still nice to see the ratings go up for these last few episodes.

  5. While the increase might be miniscule, 1.0 looks a lot better than 0.9!

  6. Any boost is appreciated in Chucks case, especially since the first week of this season NBC hasn’t advertised the show at all in my area. (Chicago)

  7. Why do you have to use the word cancel Derrick. It was not cancelled it just ended.
