BURBANK, CA (February 1, 2012) – It’s no secret that all good things must come to an end. The final season of this fan-favorite series will be available on Blu-ray Hi-Def and DVD on May 8, 2012 from Warner Home Video. Chuck: The Complete Fifth and Final Season includes all 13 episodes from Season Five plus over 3 hours of never-before-seen bonus features, including six brand-new featurettes, two full-length commentaries, deleted scenes, gag reel, and an extended version of the series finale episode. Chuck: The Complete Fifth and Final Season is priced to own at $39.98 SRP on DVD and $49.99 SRP on Blu-ray.

In the fifth and final season, Chuck is ready to take Operation Bartowski freelance. Chuck’s spy abilities will be put to a new test when he and his team must save mankind without the help of the CIA. Instead, they’ll use the cover of the Buy More electronics store to fund their own operations, leading to new missions, new stakes and new obstacles. With Chuck and Sarah as newlyweds and his family in on his secret, it has never been harder for Chuck to separate his spy life from his personal life.

“During its run, Chuck had an incredibly loyal fan base,” said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV and Special Interest Marketing. “Fans actively worked to save this unique show from cancellation by creating a talked-about ‘Save Chuck’ campaign, helping the show stay on air for five very entertaining seasons. We are very excited to release the final installment of the series on DVD and Blu-ray.”

Chuck co-creator/executive producer Chris Fedak added: “Five years ago, Josh and I set out to tell an action-adventure story about a regular guy’s quarter-life crisis. We’ve been able to do so much more. This final season is a love letter to everything we’ve done. We hope fans enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.”

Chuck: The Complete Fifth and Final Season DVD and Blu-ray releases will also include a NEW UltraViolet Digital Copy which allows consumers to download and stream all 13 episodes via Wi-Fi to computers and compatible iOS and Android devices.*

  1. Whats the artwork look like ?

  2. ALright…just ordered the bluray, gonna take May 9th off and have me a good time with the extras!! Cannot wait…

  3. I was excited to see the digital copy until I saw it was Ultraviolet. That system is such garbage. It really does not work well with AppleTV!

  4. I’m still hoping for some bonus ending scene so May 8 might give me some closure.

  5. Has there been any news about a Chuck: The Complete Series release? would love to buy all 5 seasons on bluray in some awesome combo pack.

  6. Commentaries! At last. 🙂

  7. Chuck: The Future (featurette) ????

Not sure how realistic it is, but could it be a montage with voicover or so aka the house with the red door, white picket fence, Chuck, Sarah and the baby?

    preordered it 🙂 can’t wait.

  8. Hi Mel,

When is the DVD released in Europe?

    Can’t Wait!!

    Thanks

    Sean

  9. Hey Mel,

When will we find out the results of the Chuck Giveaway?

  10. MEL- just checked Amazon and it’s on order, but for $29.99.

    • Yep, if you pre-order then you get Amazon’s lowest price. Not a bad deal, huh?

      • MEL- sorry to bug. Did you not recieve my previous question about having preordered thru Chuckazon, and whether that will be the same release as this one? Thanks.

  11. Extended version of the final episode ???

I wonder what’s different then the one aired on TV.

    any thoughts?

    • Yes, Fedak and Schwartz said in several interviews that we’ll get about 8 more minutes of “Goodbye” on the DVD that had to be cut to fit the time allotted on NBC.

      • Hi Mel Great news about CHUCK DVD coming out in May i Pre-Ordered mine from AMAZON a month ago i cannt wait for the dvd to come out then i will have all the CHUCK DVDs then. I watch Chuck season 2 on 5 UK last night where Chuck & Sarah go on a real date and where chuck gets held by his legs from the top of the roof and Sarah is on there aswell she screams and Chuck is droped over cassey coming up the fire stairs looks up and grabs Chucks hand why Sarah was fighting the baddy that episode was so funny. Thanks mel about the post on chuck dvd coming out soon.

      • He Mel!

Thankyou for everything, but do you know if season 4 and 5 come out with Dutch subtitles? Cause season 1, 2 and 3 did, but season 4 didn’t..

        Thank you!

        Lots of hugs!

      • Dutch isn’t listed in the press release for season 5, so I’m gonna say it won’t come with Dutch subtitles. Sorry.

  12. Are the “cast” commentaries the same ones that were posted here and on youtube?

    • No, these are commentaries like you see/hear on any other DVD where the cast and creative team watch the episodes and talk about them with each other. They are recorded specifically for the DVD.

  13. When, where, and if, is Chuck going to get syndicated?

  14. May? Oh well. I guess I’ll have to wait 4 months to see the 3 eps I missed from this season.

  15. Looks like I’ll be heading to the nearest Target during my two final exams that day.

  16. Fingers crossed for a complete series box set! What are the odds they release one?…….

  17. Hey Mel,
Any chance we might see a podcast about the season 5 DVD since it’s got so many features on it? Just the “Chuck: The Final Episode – An intimate look” (featurette) would have plenty to talk about not to mention all the other extras.

  18. Just pre-ordered the Blu-Ray!!

  19. I hope that they would include the Cast saying farewell to us fans. That was so touching and a nice bonus.
Also it would be great to have the NBC/worldwide ads for Chuck included. The ones for the first season were hilarious – “nerds don’t have abs” still makes me laugh out loud as does the training/weapons ad.
I read that NBC might be coming out with Chuck action figures??? Yeah after the show is over???!!!
BTW thanks for all your work on ChuckTV. It has been a wealth of information and a great forum for us all.

  20. I would love to get a Jeffster album with this

  21. Mel, Do you know if the Blu Ray will be Region Free? As I will be buying for the UK market. Also, nice birthday present for me as its released on my birthday!

    • Isn’t Blu-ray region-free by default? I don’t have a Blue-ray player, so I’ve never purchased that version of a disc, but it was my understanding that Blue-ray was universal.

  22. Mel – here is the cover to the DVD
    http://www.tvedge.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Chuck-Season-5-Promotional-Picture-NEW.jpg

    • Nope, that’s the placeholder they’ve had up on Amazon for a couple of months. The real cover art probably won’t be released for another month or so.

  23. Very excited for this. Even more excited to hear how Zachs pitch to Fedak went about future Chuck projects. Can’t wait to get this thing.

  24. I’m so excited for this! I think that’s when I’ll finally re-watch the last two episodes. I’ve only seen them live and I wasn’t TOO happy with the final scene but was still happy it happened none the less.

  25. Any idea when it will be avialable for pre-order on amazon.ca

  26. I saw they don’t mention “Portuguese” as language and subtitles in the Amazon release… Can I buy and expect to come with it? I’m a brazilian fan. Thanks!

  27. Not until May 8th, is this ever going to be a long winter.
I guess the silver lining is it gives me time to get through my rewatch of all the seasons. I should just be finishing up S4 when it comes out.

Tonight being the first Friday night with no new Chuck, I continued my rewatch where I left off with Sensei and Delorean.

Sensei has never been one of my favourites, but since seeing the mission logs with Sarah expressing her feelings in her own words every gesture and expression she made in that episode seemed to be amplified and I found myself enjoying that episode more than I ever have. Who knows I might even like Mask this time around. OK now I’m just fooling myself. LOL

  28. Remember to spread the word to get those sales coming in

  29. Had it preordered since Monday so I’m all good.
