MUSIC: Episode 3.14

For once I knew all the songs on a Chuck episode without having to research them. The icing on an already delicious cake. The Music page has been updated with songs from “Chuck vs. the Honeymooners”. (You may need to refresh the page to see them.)

  1. What a great episode!!! Thanks for the music update. def. gonna go an download these

  2. Oh Mel! How hilarious! Leaving on a Jet Plane is John Denver! Bob Denver played Gilligan on Gilligan’s Island. Delicious!

  3. There’s one more piece of music that I’d really like identified. It comes near the very end of the show, during the scene where Chuck and Sara tell the General that they are dating, exclusively. It’s electronic, and sounds vaguely Ray Lynch, but I’m not sure. Anyone? I tried to use both Shazam and Soundhound on it and both failed.

    • That was an original piece by Chuck’s composer, Tim Jones.

      • Oh man! That was REALLY fast response! OK, so when is Tim Jones releasing that on CD? :-). Sign me up, I’ll buy it!

    • Sorry to reply to myself, but further clarification, it’s BETWEEN the last two identified music pieces in the list on the music page:

“Light & Day/Reach for the Sun” by Polyphonic Spree (Chuck and Sarah vow to NOT quit being spies)

Plays in the background here, during the scene right after Chuck says “Gerneral, Look, I think it’s important that you should know, that Sara and I”, the music starts with two bass notes, and continues for nearly a minute, until we see Chuck get into Ellie and Devin’s apartment.

Then there’s the scene when Ellie comes back for the phone, and then the scene with Chuck and Sara and this song:

“Feeling Good” by Nina Simone (Chuck puts it on to begin Sarah’s musical education)

      • I know which piece you’re talking about; I was also attracted to it. So far all I’ve been able to find is this youtube video with the music playing in S02E22, with other sounds drowned away:

The music in question starts at aprox.: 1:21.

  4. I can’t get Chuck’s playlist for Sarah to come up off of the nbc site. Does anyone have it? Where can I find it?

  5. Hi guys. Does anyone know what the song was durring the fight in the cafe towards the end before they went back to Burbank?

    • I’m guessing it’s Cobrastyle by the Teddybears. Please let me know if this is not the song.

      • definitely not cobrastyle, I actually came to this page searching for the name of that song, and it is not cobrastyle. I think it may be something that was scored especially for chuck

    • I think what you mean is: Tim Jones. Look it up on youtube: Tim Jones – Chuck

  6. This song was left off your list and is available from Amazon: “Four By Four” by Shout Out Louds. (When Chuck & Sarah attempt to explain to Casey and Morgan why they’re “quitting” being spies.)

I really wish NBC would release that version of Jeffster singing “Leaving on a Jet Plane.” So good! I bet Ellie was wondering why they butchered Africa at the Buy More for her and then sang so great now! 🙂

  7. Do I sense a potential Friday Five in the making here?

“Which five songs would you include on a playlist if by some miraculous occurrence of fate you were able to even come close to getting a girl (almost)as hot as Sarah Walker?”

I’d just take the easy route and choose side two of the first Led Zeppelin album. Girls who dig Zeppelin are the coolest.

  8. That was a huge reach back for the Nina Simone song. She originally recorded it back in 1965.

  9. hey guys does anyone know the soundtrack that plays after chuck flashes during the fight in the cafe(S03E14)??? the one with the claps…it plays in most of the episodes after he flashes and is pulling of stunts….can someone pls identify it and let me know where i can get it from?

    • It’s part of the scored, composed by Tim Jones. Tim is working on a CD with selected music from his score to be released later this year.

  10. I just went on youtube to listen to Feeling Good by Nina Simone and read some of the comments. It is hilarious how many other Chuck fans did the same thing. Check it out.
