Someone’s worried about the upcoming trip to Africa, so Ausiello took pity on them in this week’s spoiler column:

Ausiello: I’ll say this: They’re both in the finale.
Never thought they where leaving the show since they have been in the promos for ep 14-17. But who knows what happens in the end of the season .. Hopefully none of them leaves/dies or whatever 🙂
Hey guys don’t worry, Ryan Mcpartlin (sp?) said we’re going to follow His character Devon and Ellie to Africa, apparently there’s going to be a spy related mission going on there as well. And besides, remember the promo? When Ellie whacks Casey, they’re back in Burbank. So we’ll see them around.

That seems like the obvious choice… I hope not because it’s really fun seeing Scott Bakula on the show. But this is Chuck we’re talking about nothing is ever as it seems… The dead does not always stay dead.. So let’s root for season 4 😀

I can’t see Ellie and Awesome leaving. That’s because we still need to learn about Mama Bartowski, who is more than likely a spy herself, which could pull Ellie into Chuck’s spy world like every other significant family member and friend. And of course we don’t know about Sarah’s mother or Casey’s parents for that matter.
As for Papa Bartowski’s death I’ve been thinking about that kind of game changer for some weeks now. Yet there’s always the chance that Vincent, Bryce, or Shaw could show up unexpectedly as the new Ring leader only to die again.
Bryce and the ring??? nahh and if Scott B. comes back I dont think he would die. What if Caseys fiancee dies and Casey gets his daughter???

I’d think that this would be a nice, sad, but awesome storyline, since this season Captain Awesome has been getting more and more worried about chucks spy life and asking chuck to ensure he and Ellie are ok, that Captain Awesome is the guy who dies in the finale, which would lead chuck to go off at the end of the finale traveling around the world blaming himself, getting drunk with guilt, setting up the season 4(which we have to get) premier of sarah tracking chuck down in a bar trying to bring him back to burbank and get over the death he caused
very much like the beginning of the OC season 4 haha.
speaking of, the last time schwartz killed 2 characters in the 3rd season a a show, the 4th season didnt go so well. :/
Though I still think Ellie finding out about her brother would provide one of the dramatic high points of the series, I’m thinking more and more that Ellie and Awesome are toast. They’ve given Ryan McPartland some good stuff this season but they’ve really shortchanged Sarah Lancaster, and at this point, they might as well kill them both off since they probably don’t want to pay either of them. It would give the show its darkest moment, but as Chuck gets deeper into the spy life, wouldn’t that be a natural outcome?
Peplz who think the “Awesomes” are leaving. I laught at you. These two are a big part of the show. U cant just get rid of them. They are not going anywhere. Trust me. I know. 🙂
Awesome and Ellie should remain a part of CHUCK — and occasionally, a major part. The best episodes have involved them!
