Chuck vs. the Podcast 74: Girl Power

Gray was held captive by work this week, but Mel & Liz are happy to kick butt in his absence! This is of course perfect timing, since Yvonne Strahovski kicked some major butt in this week’s Chuck.

Whether you call her “Female Rambo” or “Giant Blonde She-Male,” Yvonne put in one of her best performances yet in “Chuck vs Phase Three,” written by new Chuck writer Kristin Newman, and directed by Anton Cropper. She drew blood, and she drew tears — reminding us that the emotional core of our favourite show is what keeps us coming back.

Ratings were low this week against the Dancing With the Stars performance finale, though DVR and online numbers are sure to be high as word of mouth spreads. Let’s make sure all eyes are on Chuck this Monday at 8/7c, as Timothy Dalton and Linda Hamilton return in “Chuck vs the Leftovers.” Have a happy, safe Thanksgiving!

  1. Silly nillies!

In Chuck versus the Predator, the buy-morons found Orion’s laptop that was intended for Chuck and they thought it was the Roark 7!
    This is a call back!!!!

  2. i was thinking why was the laptop broken? Maybe PapaB wanted Ellie to get Chuck to fix it and maybe the material is meant not just for her but for Ellie too…

    • Well it was sitting out in the car for who knows how long. The elements can be damaging.

    • Was the laptop broken or was there a finger recognition switch set just for Ellie and when Devon turned it on, the computer shut down. But it was the same computer from the Preditor that was blown up in Hong Kong, shipped to Chuck, and was shown at the end of the First Kill and in the bunker on the Colonel, I believe it was also shown in Orions lair.

  3. hi 🙂
this episode had a lot of extras! never saw an episode so crouded like this one 🙂
and the ideia of have lester as a sign

sarah, we know, lets chuck excited, but knowing that lester let him
    powerless …oh boy…it´s really funny :))

  4. Sarah loves Chuck so much more than he knows! We got to see Sarah without Chuck which was terrible. She was insane. Like Casey said. She was the OLD Sarah Walker. The Sarah Walker who didn’t have ‘her Chuck’. Yvonne was FANTASTIC in this episode. She did an incredible job with the emotion involved in this episode. (well she always does incredible)

  5. WOW i am kind of surpised that u’all didn’t talk about the proposal plan more …. I know iam excited about it lol

  6. Great podcast. Girl power!!!

  7. The computer was left just for Ellie so whatever is on it will be just for her.POssibly specs for the intersect so that she’ll be able to help Chuck in the future. But like others said also the Rourk 7 was all Orion’s work if you remember when Papa B came back said it was all his work. Great episode!

  8. Remember that Roark stole designs from PapaB. It may have looked like a Roark laptop to Jeff and Lester, but that might just have been because Roark stole the design.

  9. One thing I liked (among other things) about this episode was the parallel between Sarah doing anything to find Chuck and Devon going to the dark corners of the human body for Ellie.
