Chuck the Halls: Giving Back

The holidays are upon us! Need some help deciding what to buy the Chuck fan(s) on your list? We have lots of ideas! We’re kicking off our 2010 Chuck Gift Guide a little differently, though. We’ll get to the goodies to wrap or place in stockings next, but first we wanted to focus on the generosity of spirit that pervades the season.

As you prepare to spread holiday cheer, we encourage you to consider ways to give back either through donations of money or time. The cast and creative team of Chuck support a myriad of organizations that would love to have your help now or any time during the year.

Operation SmileZachary Levi regularly contributes to Operation Smile, an organization of medical professionals and caring hearts who provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate. To get involved, visit OperationSmile.org.

Ken-Mar RescueYvonne Strahovski is a vocal supporter of this dog rescue. She adopted her own dog, Chazzie, from Ken-Mar and continues to help by participating in fundraisers and lending her celebrity status to raise awareness. To donate or find out more about the doggie orphans available, visit KenMarRescue.org.

Ride 2 RecoveryAdam Baldwin rides with this group every year to raise money for outdoor cycling programs at military and VA hospitals around the country to help injured veterans overcome obstacles they face. Visit Ride2Recovery.com to get involved.

Alzheimer’s Association (Orange County Chapter) – Both Chris Fedak and Sarah Lancaster support this organization, dedicated to raising awareness and money for Alzheimer’s research. Visit their website to get involved.

LA Food BankVik Sahay says this about his chosen charity: “With the holidays approaching, I look forward to unplugging and being with my family. For us, being together is all about big dinners (and card games) around the table. It’s such a vital way to connect. The food, I mean. And I’ve been fortunate enough to never wonder if that dinner was going to happen. Ever. Which puts me in a really privileged position. To never know hunger. But I know that’s not true for everyone. A lot of people in America go hungry. In LA County alone, a million men, women, and children are at risk of going hungry every day. The LA FOOD BANK keeps it real simple. No one goes hungry. That’s where I’ll be making a donation this year.” Visit LAFoodBank.org to get involved.

Project Angel FoodScott Krinsky is a supporter of this organization that delivers more than 13,000 meals every week to men, women and children in Los Angeles affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Visit AngelFood.org to learn how you can get involved.
