Irish Actress Finds Big Break on Chuck

Sonya Macari surprised everyone when she auditioned for a part on Chuck, using an Italian accent. The surprise came when they all realized she was actually Irish, the day she arrived on set after winning the part. “The lines I was given were Italian. They might not have noticed I was speaking Italian with an Irish accent,” she said.

Sonya, a former model, has been auditioning in Hollywood for two years, looking for that one chance to break into American television. “As regards opening doors, getting a part on a show like this is huge. It’s the break I have been working towards these last few years,” said Macari. The thought that she considers Chuck so huge tickles me to no end!

Macari will play a sexy Italian spy, Antonia, in episode 4.16, “Chuck vs. the Masquerade”.
