SPOILERS: Greta Explanation On The Way?

In the latest Ask Ausiello, the king of spoilers drops news about some returning guest stars:

Question: Any familiar faces returning to Chuck in these next 11 episodes? —Will
Ausiello:
You already know that John Larroquette’s hasbeen spy Roan Montgomery is back next Monday. Beyond that, Mini Anden reappears as Sarah’s former spy chum Carina Miller in the Feb. 14 episode that reunites Sarah with her former A-Team. “They are a wild bunch to say the least,” previews exec producer Chris Fedak of the “Cat Squad,” which is comprised of Anden, Three Rivers‘ Mercedes Masöhn, and Episodes‘ Mircea Monroe. “It’s our homage to Charlie’s Angels.” And later this season, Isaiah Mustafa and Stacy Keibler will reprise their Greta personas in an episode Fedak says “will explain what the whole Greta thing is about.”

I’m glad to see these two returning, but what do you think “the whole Greta thing” really is all about?

  1. With the show always having a bunch of plot threads that get mysteriously dropped or forgotten about (the intersect dream from Tooth or that the Buy More is run by the CIA, for example), the Greta story line is the one I could care least about. We’ve had two “blink and you’d miss them” Gretas and two that were OK, but didn’t contribute anything to the story. We haven’t even heard about Greta since Fear of Death back in November.

Personally, I was hoping that they just chalk Greta up as a mistake and let the role quietly disappear.

  2. Isaiah Mustafa is coming back? Yeah! He was the funniest Greta ever.

  3. I hope this is good. I’ve been pretty disappointed with the Gretas so far, of course with the exception of Summer Glau and Isaiah Mustafa. I’ve never gotten the point of Stacy Keibler’s Greta. She was in about 2 short scenes and had like 5 lines that didn’t add anything to the episode. She was pretty much a waste of episode time. If this payoff thing is a good one, that’ll be a good thing. But, if it doesn’t work, then it’ll be really bad.

  4. In other spoiler news, a couple of outlets are reporting that episode 4.19 will be titled “Chuck vs. the Muuurder.” Yes, that’s with 3 “u”‘s
