In today’s live chat with fans via Ustream, Yvonne Strahovski answered questions about Chuck, her upcoming feature film Killer Elite, and lots more. Here are some highlights, and we’ll add the archived video as soon as it is available the full video is available below.
- Working on the film gave her more downtime than she’s used to having on Chuck.
- She’d like to play some more vulnerable roles after spending years in an action role.
- Meryl Streep is her acting inspiration.
- Meeting and working with Robert DeNiro made her giddy. “I had to wipe the grin off my face so I could do a serious scene.” She’s pretty adorable talking about him.
- On DeNiro and Jason Stathem: “I think they’re teddy bears.”
- In a fight, Sarah Walker would defeat Anne (her character in Killer Elite). “I think Sarah would pull out a knife and do something terrible with it…”
- She flew 14 hours back to Melbourne to film a “pick up” scene for the movie. It took about 90 minutes, then she got back on plane and flew back to Los Angeles to work on Chuck.
- Yvonne took home the boots from Anne’s wardrobe and wears them “all the time.”
- Anne is “not Sarah Walker. She’s completely different.”
- “I’d love to do a period piece some day. Mainly because I want to wear the big dresses.” Ha!
- She’d like to give films more of a shot after being on TV for the past 4 years.

She really is so gorgeous and I am so ecstatic they asked her one of my questions. Thanks for putting it up so quiclkly. I work in a Furniture store in the UK and we closed early the last couple of days due to the unrest on the streets and was not expecting to have to go in tonight but I was called in to start at 18.30 uk time which is the time the ustream started so went to work really gutted about missing it live but come back and saw this.
Like Yvonne meeting Robert Deniro I now have a silly grin on my face.

I know that she was promoting “Killer Elite”, but it looks like she didn’t really want to answer “Chuck” questions….
Another impression I got is that she’s really eager and ready to move on from “Chuck”, and that she’s a bit tired of the TV schedules of work…which is totally understandable in a way.
Is it me, or she’s very reluctant to share anything about her own personal tastes, likes, dislikes? She answered all the questions concerning her “work” tastes (Meryl Streep, the movies she likes), but whenever the questions are getting closer to what she is, she answers with generalities (her love of camping, that she’s a tomboy…etc.). She IS mysterious! lol
She’s very sweet and beautiful, and I hope her career goes the way she deserves!
Well, it was being run by the publicist for Killer Elite, so I’m guessing they weren’t keen on asking her the Chuck questions. 😉
Hi all, Yvonne Strahovski strikes me as a very private person by nature! The entertanment industry and privicy don’t exactly go hand in hand do they! Yvonne must be trying to distance herself from Sarah Walker/Bartowski character who was carear defineing for her. I wish her every success in the future 🙂

Pity Season 5 is so short!! Is there anyway we the fans can push for a couple more episodes?
Mel, Is S5 set up like S3 i.e there were intially 13 with a bonus 6? If that is the case I would argue NBC ARE cutting Chuck mid – season!!

NBC has said repeatedly that it’s 13 episodes and done, barring miraculous ratings on Friday nights this season. They aren’t “cutting Chuck mid-season”, they’re running the full 13 episodes, then letting Team Bartowski ride off into the sunset as planned.
Thanks for setting me straight Mel! Its a pity tho because to me it appears that, as Papa B said @ the end of S3 – Chuck’s “story is just begining” !

I was really impressed with the way she answered the questions. I’ll definitely be interested in her future projects beyond Chuck. Great actress.
I was at work during the live stream and was out-of-town straight from work. But my sister was very very sweet, she joined the live chat for me and even sent her question. Unfortunately, the moderator didn’t get the chance to ask my sister’s question probably because there were really so much coming in during that time (as my sister was telling me). Overall, I’m happy to see Yvonne on such events as this, and I really look forward to seeing more of her movies in the future. That, and the fact that my loving and caring sister stayed up so late for this live chat are the most important reasons why this is so special! She was getting ready for bed when she got the tweet from Yvonne, so she couldn’t pass up the chance..Love you, sis! And more power to Yvonne!
