Josh Schwartz Wants to Remake MISFITS for US TV For Some Reason

Sorry to get snarky in the title, but really? Misfits remade for US TV? Because that worked so well when MTV did it with Skins.

If you’re not familiar with Misfits, head over to Hulu and watch the first two seasons (only 13 eps in total). Just be sure to listen through headphones if any youngsters are in the vicinity. Misfits is about a group of juvenile delinquents who get caught up in a freak storm and develop superpowers. Big deal, right? Hold up – this is not JLA or X-Men. These kids are not glamorous or even that good looking (at least on the show). They’re real, they’re rebellious, they’re petty, they’re cranky, and they’re about as far from Schwartz’s take on teens/young adults as you can get. Misfits is also a critical and commercial success on both sides of the Atlantic. So why gloss it up for Hollywood? I’m not happy.

  1. me either, my greatest fear a complete whitewashed version and by that I mean as in characters. I see pretty, spoiled rich white kids abound.

  2. Hmmm… This seems out of character for Schwartz given his past track record. Oh well, I’ll stay with Chuck & HArt of Dixie.

  3. 13 episodes in 2 seasons? musta been a great show(sarcasm)

  4. I think Josh Schwartz can pull it off, he has a experience in producing shows about cranky teens from Gossip Girl and The O C so i think he can do something nice with this show 🙂

    • That’s the whole point we don’t want something nice done to this show, and I don’t want to see a both of cranky white teens running around. Misfits is neither of those things.

  5. From the UK, Finally somebody from the US spreaking sense about remakes of UK shows, and if it parents in the US moan about it like they did skins it won’t last long,
Well said Mel and Well Done

  6. As someone from the UK Misfits, while it has SOME good points, actually isn’t all that great
I watched it a few times but it just bores me tbh.
