RATINGS: Chuck Holds Steady

The fast overnight ratings for Friday night are in and Chuck has some positive news at last! “Chuck vs. the Frosted Tips” scored a 0.9 in the 18-49 demo, matching last week’s adjusted demo number and beating ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover, and was watched by about 3.17 million viewers. With any luck, those numbers will adjust up again in the finals. Also, DVR viewership numbers for the week the season premiered will be available early next week, giving us an idea of how many fans are opting to watch episodes later during the weekend.

A note about streaming video: We know new episodes of Chuck aren’t available at NBC.com, Hulu, iTunes, etc. It sucks. We’ve been trying to get answers from our contacts at NBC and Warner Bros. this week, but so far no one has been able to give us a definitive answer about what’s going on. As soon as we have something concrete to share with you on this subject, we’ll post it.

  1. I’m surprised it takes that long to tally DVR viewership, hopefully it will be good considering I know a bunch of people who watch Chuck, but DVR it.

  2. Mel, do the DVR rating count for the first recording on the DVR or subsequent viewings as well? Just curious, we DVR as well as watch live, but I haven’t been re-watching so far this season on the DVR. I’ve still got all three Eps on the DVR, so I guess I better re-watch and keep up the good momentum from this week’s awesome episode :-).

  3. 0.9…… That’s pathetic. So much for ending the show with some dignity.

  4. it’s better than nikita:P

  5. ouch. I actually like Nikita.

  6. I really wish they would post the videos…I only watch the show online and I”ve been faithfully checking, but to no avail!

  7. I’m so sad they’re not posting the episodes online. I couldn’t watch either of the last two live–my daughter was in a show, and I don’t have DVR–and was shocked to see there is NO way to see them. I’d gladly pay! Now I’m two shows behind and I can’t watch live until I find some way to watch 5.02 and 5.03! I so wish they’d figure it out and get those episodes up somewhere.

  8. In addition to not being able to find it streamed, I was unable to see it in iTunes, that is until I switched from the U.S.A. store to the Canada store. They do appear to be selling it there. It appears that I could get it if I create an additional iTunes account, but it would probably require a different Email address and credit card, though there are probably ways to get around that second problem with gift cards and stuff.
