NBC released a bunch of new stills from tonight’s episode of Chuck featuring Cheryl Ladd as Sarah’s Mom, Emma, and both babies referred to in the title: Clara Bartowski and Molly, the blond 6-year-old we see charming Team Bartowski. It also looks like Alex and Morgan are on the path to reconciliation, and check out Sarah’s face. Must have been quite a battle to secure her mom and Emma’s safety!

  1. I was hoping Sarah’s mom would get to meet Chuck’s family & friends. Cool.

  2. there are pink chucks in the 6th picture

  3. That 7th photo, that family portrait with Chuck holding Molly, is just too precious

  4. Wow that’s a lot of pictures. I think the only thing really given away is that now we know that the scenes of Sarah and the baby in the promo are flashbacks. I’m really excited to see this episode. It should be one of the best and biggest of the season. The Santa Suit was also good. It made me think about what season 3 could have been if they had done anything right. It was also a big step forward for Chuck as a spy. It was a big test to see how well he could fight without the Intersect and he passed. Anyway, really looking forward to this episode.

  5. Has anyone noticed that Sarah has bruises and cuts all over her face? I think its probably from fighting that guy in the promo..the guy that pushed her against the wall.

  6. what an episode!!!
that family photo is so cute….

  7. This was easily the best episode of the season so far.

As expected ,Sarah’s reasons for keeping this secret from Chuck didn’t really make any sense, not when we look at her character development up to this point, but at least that was over halfway to the episode.

    • 100% Agree.

We watched it over again immediately after-wards it was THAT good. Loved the black and white opening and Sarah, well… bad guys beware pretty much sums it up without giving away too much for those who haven’t seen it.

      — Minor spoiler stuff —

“jmc” my take on the secret was protecting Mom more than anything else due to a decision Sarah herself made. She loves her mom dearly, so much. In the first minute the flashback has her mom calling her to check in on her, concerned about her daughter knowing the line of work she is in. The theme for me was the CIA recruited her as a lone wolf. Problem is Sarah never 100% was, her mom grounded her and she had to keep her “mom” as the secret more so than the baby. Not trusting anyone with knowledge about her or the child. I’m sure some could argue against this but that’s what I took away from the episode. This was right up there with Phase Three for me. Well done show runners.

      • Agreed, gqdaddy. She was protecting the baby, but as she explained to Chuck later, thanks to all the identities she and her dad assumed over the years, the CIA had no idea Emma existed. I got the feeling that was a source of relief and sanctuary for Sarah.

  8. I LOVED THIS SHOW!! I EVEN LOVED ONE OF SARAH’S FLASHBACKS WHEN SHE GOT HER NEW JOB AS CHUCKS HANDLER THAT WAS GREAT TO SEE!!!!!! MAN I’AM GOING TO MISS THIS SHOW ALOT!!!!

  9. I loved this episode! Best of the season so far! But where was Clara?! The episode lacked a LOT of Clara!

  10. Great episode indeed! If anyone knows or can find out where to buy Alex’s top in these photos I would be very grateful! It is adorable!

  11. Is that it for Cheryl Ladd in the series-will she be in any more episodes–I felt like this was the best episode of this season–nice knife thrust by Sarah–hope it did not stain anything.

  12. Hi All,

Loved the episode!! Pity the season wasn’t longer – would have loved to see Chuck and Emma (Sarah’s mom) develop their relationship the way Sarah and Mary Bartowski did in Season 4 but Alas thats not to be……

    Long live Chuck!!

  13. Why would Sarah’s mom introduce her to Emma as her sister “Sarah”…when its been established that her real name is “Sam”? Wouldn’t her mom and dad actually call her by her real name?

    • We don’t know if she told the truth when she said it was “Sam”.

Besides it’s clear that she considers herself Sarah at this point, and that’s what her mother is going to her too.

  14. That was an excellent episode. The fact that Sarah’s mom didn’t call her Samantha or Sam was irksome but not a mojor issue. It was the only mistake I think the writers made in this episode. The rest could easily be explained away. Of course the character Sarah Walker Bartowski may no longer even think of herself as Sam; as she stated in “Phase Three” she is a different person then when she was before meeting Chuck. Someone on this site also pointed out that she probably had her name legally changed to Sarah Lisa Walker for the “Prenup” and to Marry Chuck. Could mother Emma have decided to just go with the last alias she was under when they last meet? I guess that would make sense wouldnt it?

    • The “Sam” revelation was a horrible misstep, and I think the writers realize that too. I don’t think it will ever be brought up again.

  15. There are pictures with baby clara. I don’t remember seeing her in the episode. Did i somehow miss this scene or did her scenes maybe get cut?

  16. Apparently those got cut.

  17. Hi All,

I am re watching S3 @ the moment! In vs Operation Awsome when Shaw mentions “Family & Friends makes us vunerable, makes us unable to pull the trigger & that puts everyone in greater danger, just ask your partner here she’ll tell you the same thing.” Sarah looked worried! Maybe Shaw knew about Molly @ that stage. What do people think?
